Treat Yourself Blog Hop
Print Friendly

If you’ve never visited CardMaker’s Card Swap forums, this week is the perfect time because there is a fun crop happening! Challenges and games will be posted August 8-11 and you will have until 11:59 p.m. EST on August 14 to post your projects. More details about the crop and how to participate can be found here. If you’ve never participated in a crop before and you’re feeling a little hesitant, don’t worry as there are lots of members ready to help you including Lora Brinkman, who helps keep all the forum members organized.

To celebrate the Card Crop, we’re doing some blog hopping! The theme of the hop is “Treat Yourself” and when I want to treat myself, I love to do a little retail therapy. One of my very favorite stores to visit is Anthropologie. Clothing, jewelry, shoes, design books, pretty dishes—so many of my favorite things all in one place! If you want to make me happy, just take me to Anthropologie and give me $20—I’m sure to find a cute little vase, hair accessory or a pair of earrings on sale.

So, my card for the hop is Anthro-inspired! Their dresses and tops always have the chicest details, so I wanted to incorporate that into the design. What better way than to add photos of their clothing onto the card! I used a template I found online to create a pocket—the perfect size to hold an Anthropologie gift card. 😉 Washi tape and a sparkly bow complete the ensemble. This would be an easy card to replicate for your favorite fashion lover using images from her favorite store.

Supplies used: Fashion images from Anthropologie.com; white cardstock from Stampin’ Up!; Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Paper Pad from American Crafts; gift card holder template from Two Peas in a Bucket; washi tape from Love My Tapes; silver bow clip from Heidi Swapp; black Copic® Multiliner from Imagination International Inc.; red fine-line pen from Sakura of America; heat-fix gem and i-rock tool from Imaginisce; glue stick from 3M

Ready for a fun game? As part of the hop, we’re playing the Unscramble It game. Here are the details: Each blog on the hop will have a letter. You will collect each letter along the way. The last blog on the hop will direct you to the forum where you will find all the details on how to enter a drawing for a chance to win a prize. Only one winner will be drawn. Once you have all of the letters, you will unscramble them to form a word or phrase. Each hopper collecting all the letters, unscrambling the word or phrase, entering the game by following the directions in the forum and leaving feedback on EACH blog in the hop will be entered into a random drawing which will be held on August 15. The winner’s name will be posted in the forum.

My letter is … I. (sounds like eye)

Here are your clues as to what the word/phrase might be:

  • it’s a phrase
  • it’s comprised of three words
  • it’s a way to keep balance in one’s life

Make sure to visit each blog to collect all the letters and to leave comments.
