Kathy Martin: One of My Favorite Things
Print Friendly

Hi! It’s Kathy here today to share with you one of my very favorite scrapbooking tools … thin metal dies!

Dies are my go-to tool that I use on just about every project I create! I can’t get enough of them; I love their versatility and it’s awesome that so many manufacturers are offering them.

For this card, I used a set of three nesting star dies to create a window with lots of yummy layers and dimension!

All of the patterned paper layers and accents were adhered with foam mounting tape to achieve this dimension.

The finishing touches include miniature flag accents, a sticker, adhesive gems and another die-cut star. Change the sentiment and this would make a great all-star grad or dad card too! Hope you enjoy crafting for all of these seasonal celebrations and experimenting with thin metal dies.

Supplies used: White cardstock from Neenah Paper Inc.; star patterned paper, sticker and flag accents from Bella Blvd; Sprinkles enamel dots from Doodlebug Design Inc.; star dies from My Favorite Things; foam mounting tape from 3M.

I think this is amazing! I love the patriotic style, but what really gets my heart going a little faster is the die cuts! I love the layer upon layer of the stars within stars! Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring with your project today!
