One of the products that the team at Faber-Castell sent us to play with is their new Paper Flowers kit which contains an assortment of paper flowers along with Gelatos and Texture Gems to dress them up. Since spring is on its way, I wanted to go with a light and airy color palette. To begin, I scraped some red gelato onto an acrylic block and mixed in a small amount of water to create a light pink wash which I then brushed onto the flowers. Once dry, I was able to layer them with foam dots to create a dimensional flower. The kit is filled with a variety of floral shapes and sizes; you could have endless amounts of fun coloring them all!
Besides the flowers, I was also excited to play with the lettering pens we received. I first lettered a simple “Thank you” sentiment onto white cardstock using the bright pink pen. For a soft accent, I added a shadow to the letters with the pastel pink pen. It’s a bit difficult to photograph, but the light pink shadow can be seen slightly in the photo below.
Supplies used: Design Memory Craft Paper Flowers kit and Lettering PITT Artist Pens (brights and pastels) from Faber-Castell; Rainbow Brights 6×6 paper pad from Taylored Expressions; pink grapefruit self-adhesive sequins from Jillibean Soup; mauve silk ribbon from May Arts Ribbon; paper trimmer from Fiskars; adhesive runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®.
