If you’re a regular reader to this blog, you probably know I like simple cards. Soft colors on crisp white cardstock, a little hand-lettering and a sweet embellishment are a few of my favorite card elements. I was excited to work with these gorgeous silk ribbons and decided to braid them for a little something different. I really like how the braid turned out but I also like letting the ends hang loose for a flowy feel.

To add a touch of watercolor, I scribbled a marker onto an acrylic block, mixed in a little water and brushed just a bit onto my cardstock panel. It dried quickly and I was able to add a hand-lettered sentiment on top.

Supplies used: Silk ribbons from May Arts Ribbon; whisper white cardstock from Stampin’ Up!; X-Press It Blending Card from Imagination International Inc.; begonia Spectrum Aqua Floral marker from Spectrum Noir; Mark-It pen from BIC USA Inc.; Scor-Tape from Scor-Pal Products.

Next up is the talented Amy Rysavy!
