Have you run out of gift tags yet? I did and it happened right in the middle of wrapping gifts. I needed to come up with a quick last-minute project that wouldn’t soak up too much time and still have that handmade look. So, today I have for you a set of holiday tags decorated five ways!
You can put these together with any holiday-shaped die cut you have. Tiny houses, candy canes, bows, reindeer, and snowmen will all work great. I had a cute little tree in my stash that was perfect for the job!
First thing’s first, die-cut five trees out of your favorite white cardstock (or colored cardstock, if you choose). Use whatever you have on hand to decorate them … because if we’re all being truthful here, no one really wants to go to the local craft mart this weekend, am I right?
From the top, clockwise: Copic® marker (G46: mistletoe) on white cardstock with Nuvo glitter accents; Copic® marker (G17: forest green) on white cardstock with gold heat-embossed gingham pattern; Nuvo glitter drops on white; green watercolor on white with assorted adhesive gems; and heat-activated Snow Marker on white with sparkle spritz.
Here’s a closer look.
Now for the double layer tag base. Die-cut five white tags, then pick out some patterned paper that compliments your tree designs.
Die-cut a tag out of each of the five patterned papers, then adhere your coordinating tree on top with foam squares to add a little dimension.
Then, layer your patterned tag over a white cardstock tag, and thread through the twine of your choice. To finish them off, add a cute bow at the top of each one!
