Hi CardMaker friends! It?s Noelle here today with a pretty packaging idea for a gift card for this sparkling season. I love to give gift cards, but get tired of simply sticking them inside a card or a mini gift bag. Sometimes, it makes it a more personal gift when the packaging is really special.
I used a cut file to make this holder, but it would be easy to create something similar without an electronic cutting machine using a scoring board. You could also use nesting snowflake or ornament dies to make the accent on the top of the box.
I used handmade paper for the base of this holder, so I added an additional piece of cardstock that I cut to fit inside the bottom of the box so it would keep its shape. Handmade papers are so beautiful. I absolutely LOVE this one! However, they don?t crease like cardstock, since they have a softer, less dense texture.
Another important thing to note if you are making any 3D item is that you need a strong adhesive. A regular tape runner will not hold up to the 3D nature of something like this. I like the super sticky double-sided tape with the red plastic backing. Lots of brands make it, and it comes in a lot of different widths, too.
I hope you like my project today! This is my last post for the CardMaker
blog team as a new team will be announced after the new year. I have loved every minute! Thanks so much for having me, Brooke and Tanya.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season, as well as a rocking New Year!
