Materials

  • Twin pocket folder with inside fasteners
  • 8 1/2 x 11-inch card stock: brown, white
  • Beige vellum
  • Small sepia-tone map image
  • Top-loading page protector sleeves
  • Tags: 2 large shipping, 1 small, 1 metal-edge vellum rectangle
  • Rubber stamps: map background, alphabet, small square
  • Ink pads: creamy caramel dye, basic brown pigment, watermark
  • Copper embossing powder
  • Stencils: alphabets, Stars & Bars
  • Gold craft wire
  • Antique copper brads: 3 small, 2 large
  • 4 antique copper eyelets with eyelet-setting tool
  • Embossing heat tool
  • 1/8-inch hole punch
  • Craft sponge
  • Spray adhesive
  • Paper glue

Project note: For a sepia-tone map, scan a portion of any map on computer and use photo-editing software to apply sepia or antique coloring. Print out for use on folder.
Use basic brown ink unless otherwise directed.

1. Using creamy caramel ink, stamp small squares along edge of folder front, overlapping randomly.
2. Sponge watermark ink along edges of a sheet of brown card stock; emboss with copper embossing powder. Stamp travel-themed words on card stock. Adhere to front of folder.
3. Stamp map background on a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2-inch piece of vellum; adhere to white card stock with spray adhesive. Trim a small border; ink edges. Punch 1/8-inch holes through corners of vellum; set eyelets. Center and adhere to front of folder.
4. Stamp "TRAVEL ORGANIZER" on vellum tag. Adhere tag to white card stock; trim a small border and ink edges. Punch a 1/8-inch hole through each side of tag; insert small brads. Adhere to folder as shown.
5. Tear a small piece of map; adhere to left side of folder.
6. Press small tag into watermark ink; emboss with copper embossing powder. Adhere to white card stock; trim a small border along top and bottom edges. Tear off sides. Ink edges. Punch a 1/8-inch hole through one end of tag; attach small brad.
7. Stamp "3" on vellum; cut a small circle around number; ink edges and adhere to embossed tag. Wrap wire around tag, twisting and curling it. Adhere to upper right corner of folder.
8. Use sponge, watermark ink and stencils to apply heart and stars and "TICKET TO RIDE" images on large tags. Emboss with copper embossing powder. Ink edges. Attach a large brad to each tag hole. Adhere to folder as shown.
9. Insert protector sleeves inside folder.
