Magnetic Board

Design by Linda Beeson

"Magnetic boards are very versatile because they can be rearranged all the time, and the photos can be updated as often as you like!"

Materials

  • Magnetic board in frame
  • White card stock
  • Smitten printed paper
  • Black acrylic craft paint
  • Paint glass finish
  • 8 red buttons
  • Red embroidery floss
  • 8 chipboard flower circles
  • Rub-on transfers: letters, stitches, flower
  • 8 small round magnets
  • Paintbrush
  • Hot glue gun and glue stick
Instructions
1) Remove magnetic backing from frame. Paint frame black; let dry.
2) Cut printed paper to fit front of magnetic backing; glue in place. Place backing in frame.
3) Punch out the centers from each chipboard flower. Note: You will only use the flower outlines for this project.
4) Paint each chipboard outline black; let dry. Apply one coat of paint glass finish to each flower for a shiny, dimensional look; let dry.
5) Cut white card stock to fit behind each circle/flower and glue in place. Sew or glue one button to center of each flower.
6) Hot-glue a magnet to center back of each piece on card stock.
7) Apply rub-on transfer word, stitches and flower to bottom edge of finished magnetic backing.
