Hi! It’s Kimberly with one of my favorite things! Right now, I am completely in love with these Wood & Chip Buttons from My Mind’s Eye. The wood buttons look like the tops of antique wood thread spools. Such a great touch for projects!
For my first idea, I used the darling button shown below to create sunshine. The buttons are self-adhesive, so I used a paper piercer to break through to allow the twine to be tied.
Supplies used: The Sweetest Thing Lavender Cutie Pie decorative buttons from My Mind’s Eye; cardstock from Bazzill Basics Paper Inc.; Bring On The Sun stamp set from Technique Tuesday; tuxedo black Memento ink pad from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko; twine from May Arts Ribbon; Scor-Pal from Scor-Pal Products.
My second idea was to use one of the buttons as the center of a layered doily.
Supplies used: The Sweetest Thing Honey Happiness decorative buttons and The Sweetest Thing Tangerine 6 x 6 paper pad from My Mind’s Eye; cardstock from Bazzill Basics Paper Inc.; Asian Accents (#S5-123) die templates from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts; white large adhesive foam squares and E-Z Dots Permanent from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™.
For this idea, I used the button as the center of a bow. I began by tying a knot in the ribbon and inserting it through the opening. Then I tied the bow at the back.
Supplies used: The Sweetest Thing Tangerine Hello decorative buttons and 6 x 6 paper pad from My Mind’s Eye; stamps from Hero Arts; tuxedo black Memento ink pad from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko; frayed burlap distress ink pad from Ranger Industries Inc.; Standard Circles SM (#S4-116) die templates from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts; white small adhesive foam squares and E-Z Dots Permanent from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™.
For my last idea, I thought it would be cute to make a little state fair ribbon with the wood buttons and the small pennant stickers in the package.
Supplies used: The Sweetest Thing Tangerine Hello and Lavender Cutie Pie decorative buttons and The Sweetest Thing Tangerine 6 x 6 paper pad from My Mind’s Eye; You Can Do Anything stamp set from Simon Says Clear Stamps; tuxedo black Memento ink pad from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko; frayed burlap distress ink pad from Ranger Industries Inc.; Pinking Circles SM die templates from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts.
Aren’t these just the cutest? They are SO much fun to play with! What would you do with these buttons?
Thanks for stopping by!

Love all of the cards! Esp love the simplicity of the Hello Sunshine card and the creativity of the wood button as a state fair ribbon. Cute and clever.
They are so cute! Love all your fabulous ideas/cards using them—have to get me some for sure!
Love these, Kim! I’m a huge fan of MME embellishments too but I haven’t tried these buttons yet.
I love those buttons too, sometimes the cuter things I can’t bear to use? Crazy IK!
I’d first use them as buttons on a card with sewing items for my mother that made most of my clothes until I was 10.
I love these buttons and all of the creative things you did with them! Great cards!
Love those wooden buttons and you created some fab cards Kimberly!
