Hi! Dawn here to share a little something I designed to show the versatility of the tools of my trade—namely cardstock, ink, stamps and dies. They’re not just for card making, you know! Get creative and if you can’t get creative, get on Pinterest. That’s where I saw an idea similar to what I’m sharing with you today. Some of you might know that we’re expecting our 11th grandbaby in June and just found out it’s a girl! And that means a baby shower with all the cutsie things for a little girl and the necessities, but how about a little something for the mom-to-be, too.
I started by measuring the lid to see what dies would fit. Then on a computer, I typed the poem accordingly. For this particular jar, I needed the poem to fit inside a 2 3/4-inch circle and used Photoshop Elements.
This project can be altered for many different occasions. You could stamp a sweet greeting, color a pretty scene, fashion some paper flowers and add some bling. The sky is the limit—let your imagination run!
Pink Grapefruit Sugar Scrub
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup coconut oil
- Grapefruit essential oil
- Red food coloring (optional)
Blend sugar and coconut oil together until smooth. Note: I doubled the recipe for this size jar. Add a few drops of essential oil until you get the fragrance you want. If color is desired, add one drop of food coloring at a time. A little goes a long way.
Supplies used: Precious Girl stamp set, Circles dies (#CBD142) and Double Stitched Circles dies (#CBD136) from Our Daily Bread Designs; Adirondack shell pink alcohol ink from Ranger Industries Inc.; Lacey Circles dies (#S4-293) from Spellbinders® Paper Arts; double-sided permanent tape from Kool Tak.
